Helping Alcoa Warrick Operations Forge a New Community Reputation
In 1998, Gray Loon began a partnership with Alcoa Warrick Operations when we helped the aluminum producer develop a community relations program based on an approach of openness with information. We’ve continued to provide strategic marketing services to the company ever since.
Situation, Objectives & Challenges: Alcoa Warrick Operations wanted to enhance its reputation in the community. To accomplish that, the manufacturer needed to create opportunities for transparent communication with the public. That dialogue had to include information about the environmental and economic impact of its operations.
Solution, Technology & Execution: Gray Loon Marketing Group helped Alcoa create an open style of communication with the media. And we worked to design regular events at which the public and the corporation’s leaders could speak directly with each other about business and environmental topics. Today, Alcoa Warrick Operations is recognized as a corporate good citizen in the region, holding regular communication meetings, sponsoring public events, and making philanthropic gifts that benefit community life.
